Salzburg Street, More a Restaurant Than a Coffee ShopAfter a jogging spree at the Necklace Road, we stopped near the under-construction road over bridge in front of the Secretariat. We spent a few minutes cooling and puffing off then we gathered in the workout with the cool breeze standing over the half way done construction. A little while from then, we thought of giving a little fuel to the body, which is tired with sprinting and jogging about three and a half kilo meter. It was still five minutes past seven. We wondered where should we drop in for an ideal breakfast. Our workout was little more that and we wished to find a place neared to the point we are standing. One of us in a flash remembered about the Salzburg Street, the coffee shop outlet in the Amrutha Castle premise exactly in front of the Secretariat entrance. First, we were hesitant on hearing the words coffee shop. However, we found out that it in fact is a place better to reckon as a restaurant to that of a simple arrangement for 42 pacs the Salzburg Street interiors pleased us. As soon as we occupied on the seats, a young man smartly attired approached us with a smile. We asked for the Menu and he simply pointed towards the table and respect filled tone replied ‘There it is Sirs’ and there was the menu rather mat menu. Varieties of items were on the menu. For the Good Morning session from 07:00 AM to 10:30 AM on the list were Eggs to order, ham/bacon/sausage and cereals (flakes/porridge). These could be for light stuff. If some one wished to give a tight breakfast to the belly there were idly, vada, upma, stuffed aloo paratha and poori bhaji. The visiting team ordered to their individual tastes and requirements. For those who walk in form 10:30 AM to 11:45 AM there are All Time Favourites such as Prawn Calypso, Chicken Nuggets, Vegetable Spring Rolls, Golden Dumplings, Salad Four Seasons, Choice of Cream Soup (chicken/ tomato/ vegetarian/ mushroom) and Minestroni. At the same time, you can order Chicken, Paneer, Assorted Vegetable and Cocktail Vegetable Samosa in the Pakodas section or have a Dosa (Palin, Masala, Kheema, Egg, Uthappam or Rawa Onion). The same day we spend some time in the offices nearby the place and walked into the Salzburg Street for a luncheon discussion. The light Meals section contained items on the menu from across the continent as, old Fashioned Fish ‘N’ Chips, Grilled Murrel Fillets, Chicken Steak, Supreme Strogonoff, Fettucini (Bolognese and Napolitane), Fillet Steak Lionise, Omelette of your choice, Baked Vegetables, Cottage Cheese Steak and Chilli Cheese Toast. We discussed more about the food than the topic we wished. This could be the simplest statement about the quality, aroma, and taste of the service and items. Then we looked at the other contents. Deserts: Fresh Fruit Salad, Zuccoto, Garam Gulab Jamoon, Rasmalai, and Parfait Nougatine. Choice of Ice Creams: Vanilla, Strawberry, Chocolate, Aerated Drinks, Mineral Water and Fresh Lime Soda. Those who are very much in executive style and can not spare much time waiting for the order to be placed and served, this would be putting them at ease. There was one peculiarity in Salzburg street. There was no mention of subject to availability and the service was good enough to call it to be quick in decent manner.
