epages News [Electrical Shops] City has a few dark liningsDec 01, 2004: Hyderabad is rated as the best & fastest growing city in the country. Is it true or false? A puzzling phenomena, it does possess quite a few dark linings. Amenities said to be the best are more or less confined to the up market areas & a few interior areas of the city.
A few months back, most of the areas were well-lit and looked like a paradise on earth. So good & so glorious that it looked like a replica of London & Paris or Los Angeles or New York.
However the same phenomena has catapulted into a reverse gear during the last two months, thanks to the street lights being taken off the hook & some of the areas plunging into dark alleys with frequent power cuts. An alarming drop in the quantity of hydel reservoirs & shoddy performance of the much touted APTRANSCO formed the deadly duo to procreate this problem.
The puzzling secret has been exposed by the reservoir of ¾ths complaints received by the call centres ofMCH (Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad).
In addition to the two major factors, there are other factors such as unscrupulous contractors & usage of sub-standard electrical fittings, the two identical twins harden the problem. For sure, the problem will reach its zenith when the summer of 2005 arrives. With not much of rainfall forthcoming from the much expected North East monsoon, the city is all set to await a swamp of problems such as power break downs, water shortage & a spiralling law & order problems resulting from rising tempers.
The best lit city looks the exact opposite, the best pit city with a pit of problems ahead.
